The Marlins' Jorge Cantu has had his share of ups and downs over his seven year career, but he's starting off 2010 in style, according to the Palm Beach Post's Joe Capozzi:
That's hit & RBI in all 9 games to start the year, a new MLB record #Marlins
Cantu set the record in fashion, of course: it was a solo home run off the aptly-named Reds starter Homer Bailey.
If he keeps it up and has an RBI in each of his next four games, he will be the owner of another record, too. Hey, it's not like we're watching DiMaggio race for 56 or Teddy Ballgame trying to keep .400 like in '41, but this isn't too bad, right?
