Bellator Lightweight Semi-Final Pairings Announced
- From Bellator.com
As much as I love the Bellator tournament format I am not a big fan of the brackets not being static. They have the first round matches, then after the fights happen they decide who should fight who. Rather than allowing for a natural seeding, organic sorting out of the tournament, this allows them to try to re-fit the tournament into getting a desired final.
It's clear that the preferred final here would be Huerta/Imada. This would allow the winner of the tournament to either be Huerta, giving Bellator the very good title fight of Eddie Alvarez/Roger Huerta...or Imada, which would allow for a rematch of last year's final against Alvarez.
