Bucks GM John Hammond Wins Executive Of The Year

Milwaukee Bucks GM John Hammond was sharply criticized in the offseason for letting Charlie Villanueva and Ramon Sessions walk for nothing. He didn't appear to do much of anything to replace those guys, and because of that, a lot of people figured the Bucks would be back at the bottom of the league. Instead, the Bucks won 46 games, thanks in part to Hammond's moves to acquire Brandon Jennings, Carlos Delfino, Ersan Ilyasova and trade deadline acquisition John Salmons.

For his effort, Hammond won the NBA's Executive of the Year today, according to Brian Windhorst of the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Sam Presti of the Oklahoma City Thunder finished second and Danny Ferry of the Cleveland Cavaliers finished third, despite swiping Shaquille O'Neal and Antawn Jamison for nothing in trades.
