NFL Mock Draft, Pick 35: Bucs Select Golden Tate, WR Notre Dame

The 35th pick is in and SB Nation's Bucs community, Buc 'Em, has selected...

Notre Dame WR Golden Tate

From Buc 'Em:

Although his size is a concern and he could struggle getting off some jams, he's incredibly quick and can create separation through his fast cuts. He's also deceptively fast and should have no problem fitting into Olson's offensive system. Tate is the pick.

From Mocking the Draft:

The Buccaneers have arguably the worst wide receiving corps in the NFL. A playmaker like Tate starts to change that. He has very good hands and is incredibly dangerous with the ball in his hands. Good pick.

From SB Nation's player profile, courtesy of Rakes of Mallow:

The point is, save for a couple drops against Michigan, Golden caught nearly every ball slung his way. He ran the wildcat (GOLDENEYE) for scores. He returned a punt for a score. The number of times he was actually tackled in the field of play, as opposed to being corralled out of bounds or scoring a touchdown, barely reaches single digits, and it always involved about three or four defenders. In a rare case of college football awards going to someone that deserves them, Golden was your 2009 Biletnikoff Award winner and a consensus All-American. He's really, really good.

No complaints here. The Bucs are dealing with a new quarterback and need to provide the weapons to make him successful. Tate played in a pro-style offense at Notre Dame so he should be able to make a smooth transition to the NFL.
