Is Coach K The Best Coach In Any Sport?

If you hate Duke, prepare to be infuriated:

You can discuss in the comments, but just food for thought. For some reason, this whole discussion is couched in rhetoric about Krzyzewski's performance "leading Team USA to Gold" and I'd just like to note two things. First, I can't remember another coach getting anywhere close to as much credit for leading Team USA to a Gold medal, and second, Coach K probably had the most talented U.S. team since the Dream Team.

As for his performance with Duke this year, well, they won. So it's hard to argue he didn't do a great job. But does that really put him in the discussion for the best coach in any sport?

Dick Vitale is in the discussion for biggest dumbass in any sport.

Dick shut your mouth before you say anything else. I hate Duke, but I’ll give Coach K a ton of props for essentially building this program and winning 4 national titles. That’s not an easy accomplishment in any sport, but I seem to remember this Phil Jackson guy winning 10 titles including 3 three-peats. Hmm that seems a bit more impressive.

Oh how about John Wooden? 10 national championships in 11 years including 9 in a row. Hmmm maybe that’s slightly more impressive. We can throw in Vince Lombardi, who won 5 championships total, including 3 in a row from 1965-1967 (66 & 67 were the first two Super Bowls) which has never been accomplished after by another NFL team.

I could go all day, but I’m pretty sure Vitale’s the only dumbass expressing this sentiment.
