Why were they fighting, you ask? That would be the best locker room story of the year. Put it this way: any story that spawns the permalink "Kenyon + Martin + April + Fools + Range + Rover + Popcorn" ... Well, you know that's gonna be good.
And just for good measure, let's quote K-Mart one more time:
“That ain’t no [expletive] joke,” Martin said. “I’m going to find out who did it … put my [expletive] hands on one of y’all. I’m going to put my hands on whoever did it. You better believe that. It’s [expletive] personal. You better believe it.”
It was [expletive] personal. You better believe it. But now, it seems, the fences have been mended between Kenyon Martin and his teammate, J.R. Smith. From the Denver Post:
"They seem fine to me. Today in practice they were talking, downstairs in the locker room, they were talking. Everything seems fine," [Carmelo] Anthony said after Monday's workout. "It was an April Fools' joke. It's now April 5."
See? It's over. Done with. It's April 5th now. But just for the record, if the Nuggets recover from their recent slump and wind up winning the NBA title, Kenyon Martin absolutely MUST be doused with a gigantic bucket of heavily buttered popcorn. It's not even a question. So I guess what I'm saying is... Go Nuggets!!!
