↵Last week's fearful April Fools’ Day post about some bratwurst-possessing taxi passengers getting their slap on for no reason other than inquiry into their tasty meat products turns out to be a real thing. Hurray for excessive paranoia. ↵
↵However, the tenuous connection to sports was the potential involvement of Georgia football players in the sausage-fueled attack. While a Georgia player was present, it turns out he was acting as a tube-meat Gandhi: ↵↵
↵⇥Athens-Clarke County police Monday cleared the Georgia football team of involvement in an alleged March 28 attack on a married couple in an Athens taxi. ↵⇥↵⇥
↵⇥Police said in a statement that one football player was in the vehicle, "but the investigation revealed that he acted as a peacemaker and tried to calm the situation." ↵⇥↵
↵The offenders are unrelated folk from Heard County, Georgia. Readers are advised to not mention anything about varieties of sausage, casings, or buns should they find themselves in or around said county. There appears to be some threat in Athens, but red-caped crusaders are likely to leap to your help should you find yourself accosted by insecure thugs. ↵↵
