2010 SB Nation NFL Mock Draft: Pick 46

The second round of the 2010 SB Nation NFL Mock Draft rolls along. We're having each SB Nation blogger make selections for their respective teams. CJMulrain, a blogger at SB Nation's New York Giants blog, Big Blue View, checks in to make the No. 46 overall selection in this year's mock. Take it away, sir!

With the No. 46 overall pick in the 2010 SB Nation NFL Mock Draft, the New York Giants have selected Brian Price, DT, UCLA

CJMulrain says: I was actually debating taking Price in the first round, so to see him still available when the Giants pick in the second was pretty exciting. I considered taking a linebacker or even an offensive lineman or running back here, but ultimately feel like Price is the best available player at a position of need for the Giants. With Morgan and Price in the first two rounds, the Giants will have a really formidable defensive line, and can focus on other areas in later rounds, hoping someone like Sean Lee or Pat Angerer falls to them.

Price is a first round talent, and I've seen him rated as high as the third best defensive tackle in the draft (not bad in a draft where two DT's will be going in the top three picks). Price will really help solidify the Giants run defense, giving Tuck, Umenyiora, Kiwanuka, and Morgan more leeway to go get the quarterback.

Mocking Dan reacts: Great value and a great selection. There are some questions about Price's effort and consistency, but a head coach like Tom Coughlin should theoretically be able to fix those things.

Mocking the Draft's Top 5 remaining prospects: 1 - Damian Williams/WR/USC, 2 - Rob Gronkowski/TE/Arizona, 3 - Brandon Spikes/LB/Florida, 4 - Chad Jones, S, LSU, 5 - Aaron Hernandez, TE, Florida

Sound off, SB Nation! What say you of the Giants' selection of Price? Please be sure to check out Big Blue View for all of your Giants needs.
