See, this isn't really a "bloggable" photo. From last night's epic Steve Nash performance:
That's more of a typical "sports write-able" photo. Talk about Nash's "warrior" performance last night, throw in some talk about his "intangibles", maybe even add in a boxing analogy for good measure, and... BOOM! You've got your sports A1 story for the morning paper. And that's awesome in its own way. But bloggable photos?
That's more like it. Here, Steve Nash isn't playing with a eye swollen shut and personifying all the sporting virtues that sportswriters hold dearest. Hell no. He's goin' post-modern on 'em! In the true spirit of the internet.
He's well aware that you love him, you're watching him, and... "Would you like to lick my chest?" he asks. "Here it is, if you're interested."
Now that's a bloggable moment.
And over at Yahoo's Ball Don't Lie, Trey and co. have compiled the 20 Most Bloggable NBA Photos of the Internet Age. Everything from TV screencaps, media day photos gone awry, to off-court miracles like the one above. An orgy of absurdity. They divided the series into four parts, and it's a magnificent way to spend 10 minutes.
Part One: 20-16
Part Two: 15-11
Part Three: 10-6
Part Four: 5-1
Really: Whether you're wasting time at work today, or bored at home, check 'em all out.
