Report: Flyers' Laperriere Set To Return During Conference Finals

After being decimated by injuries through the first two rounds of the postseason, the Flyers are slowly getting players back in their lineup. Simon Gagne returned to Philadelphia lineup in Game 4 against Boston, providing the spark the team needed to bounce back from an 0-3 hole to make history and win the series.

Leading scorer Jeff Carter is reportedly close to a return as well, and the Flyers received even more good news on Monday. Ian Laperriere, the guts of the team and one of their top penalty killers, could return for the conference finals.

From CSN Philly:

Ian Laperriere, cleared for contact, should rejoin the Flyers sometime later in this Eastern  Conference Final series against Montreal...

Laperriere had a morning MRI and that showed the “spot” was gone. He practiced with the team on Monday and Holmgren said he was “closer” to playing this series than Carter.

The Flyers' improbable run to the Cup could be getting closer to reality as these players bounce back into the lineup.
