Mariner Offense Now Receiving Run Donations From Opponents

Stay connected with SB Nation

The Mariners have had a lot of trouble scoring runs so far this season. Coming into action on Monday night, the M's had put up just 121 runs in 37 games, the second-lowest total in baseball. Only a month and a half into a year in which the team was supposed to compete, the Mariner lineup has become nothing more than a punchline. So Oakland center fielder Rajai Davis decided to do the charitable thing and offer his opponent a freebie.

Following are screenshots from Matt Tuiasosopo's at bat in the fourth.

And, of course, here's the video. With his .238 average and sub-.300 OBP, Davis hasn't done a whole lot of good so far, but if nothing else, at least he's cemented his place in highlight reels for decades to come.
