Go Crazy, Kids: Gus Johnson Is Your New Madden '11 Announcer

Gus Johnson will be the voice of Madden 2011, replacing the announcer of the past two editions, Tom Hammond, whose giant skull frightened children and forced EA to change the rating on Madden to "Contains Men With Abnormally Large Heads." Gus Johnson's bracing enthusiasm was a bonus, but so was his well-shaped, attractive, and normal-sized skull. (It rendered well.)

Having more Vitamin Gus in your life is never a bad thing, but this does raise the eyebrows a bit:

"There will be some really marquee lines in here," Morales said. "Some lines will be controversial, some have never been heard before."

Controversial? As in old gamers complaining about Gus's annoying "enthusiasm" and "refusal to announce the game like a reanimated corpse," or as in "Brian Cushing and eight Mexican pharmacies make the tackle, 2nd down and 7?" We certainly hope it's the latter.
