After a rare down year, the UCLA Bruins are bringing lots of talent back to Westwood.
Today former North Carolina forwards Travis and David Wear announced that they will be transferring to UCLA after just one year playing for the Tar Heels.
The twins, who were five-star recruits out of high school, grew up in Southern California and attended powerhouse Mater Dei High School.
Obviously Ben Howland is thrilled about the arrival of the 6 feet 10 inch twins:
Although they weren’t major factors last season for the Tar Heels, their decision to transfer came as a surprise to Roy Williams.“I am absolutely ecstatic about Dave and Travis joining our program,” Howland said in a prepared statement released by the school. “Both are outstanding players. They are highly-skilled good athletes who are hard workers and extremely motivated to be at their best. They are constantly working hard on their overall game.”
As per NCAA rules, the twins will have to sit out a year before resuming play for the Bruins.
