Like an expecting parent, Nationals fans have spent the last year awaiting one joyous moment - the birth of the major league career of potential franchise savior Stephen Strasburg. Unfortunately, for one set of real, live expecting parents, that other birth might come at an inconvenient time.
Kristen Hudak of MASN introduces us to Nats season ticket holders Gavin and Rebecca Birch, who are expecting a daughter on June 5. Strasburg is expected to make his Nationals Park debut sometime between June 8 and 10. The timing could make for a hectic week, but if you're a Nationals fan who also happens to be having a child in the next couple of weeks, Gavin provides a silver lining:
"Either way, this experience is certainly going to help me remember my daughter's birthday. I'm so horrible with dates."
Plus, being able to just buy one gift for both her birthday and Strasmas will be nice.
