Clemson's bright football future is flickering a little, as concerns mount that starting quarterback Kyle Parker may blow town for greener, gentler pastures:
Parker is projected as a possible first-round pick in the MLB draft next month after finishing the regular season with a .373 average, 18 home runs and 56 runs batted in while playing outfield for the No. 18 Tigers.
He'd be putting the team in a tough spot, sure, but think of the turnabout. Parker has his own future to think about. And he may not even leave, but Dabo Swinney sounds like he's at least trying to get used to the idea:
"I've said many times before I'd be shocked if he's not here, but I've been shocked before."
Parker's likely replacement would be redshirt freshman Tajh Boyd. In related news, internet favorite Willy Korn, who was the first quarterback to depart the team this spring, started classes at Marshall this week and never, ever thinks of you at all, Clemson.
