With the Stanley Cup Playoffs in full swing, some of the players missing out are helping their respective countries in the World Championships. Like Los Angeles forward Jack Johnson, who has been named the captain for Team USA. The alternate captains were Ottawa's Nick Foligno, Los Angeles' Matt Greene, Calgary's Nick Greene, and New York Islanders' Nick Okposo. From USA Hockey:
Johnson has represented the United States seven previous times, most recently at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games. He was also a member of Team USA at two IIHF World Men's Championships (2007, 2009), two IIHF World Junior Championships (2006, 2007) and two IIHF World Men's U18 Championships (2004, 2005).
Team USA was fourth in the last World Championships and is looking to build off their silver medal performance in the Olympics. Unfortunately for them, there will be no Ryan Miller in net.
