Multiple reports indicate the Cowboys and Rams are close to a trade that would send Bobby Carpenter to St. Louis and Alex Barron to Dallas.
According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, a deal could be done as soon as Friday.
Again, Barron must sign his one-year tender as a restricted free agent before he can be traded, and the earliest that can happen with the contract turned into the league is now Friday.
Obviously both players must pass a physical as well, which is standard procedure for any trade.
The Rams used the second overall pick last year on Jason Smith, who figures to take over left tackle.
