The NFL's rookie of the year will be suspended for the first four weeks of the season.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Cushing is being suspended for violating the NFL's steroid policy.
Cushing appealed the league's decision at a hearing at the NFL scouting combine in February but was informed Friday his appeal had been rejected, according to sources.
He will be able to participate in training camp leading up to his suspension.
The Texans defense will suffer without Cushing, especially considering that its first game of the season is against the defending AFC South champion Indianapolis Colts. Cushing will also miss games against the Washington Redskins, Dallas Cowboys and Oakland Raiders.

A tainted ROY season
Similar to the situation after I heard that Shawn Merriman was a performance enhancement drug user, I can see that Cushing, a player that was talented but still had question marks coming out of college, has been nailed as a juicer. It makes me wonder about other players of course, but now, I think he should be stripped of his award as well

Sucks for him and the Texans
What? I didn't break it, I was just testing its durability, and then I placed it in the woods becuase it's made out of wood and I just thought he should be with his family.

Tough break for him.
He really should get rid of that godawful mohawk though.

how is that a tough break?
That was a terrible decision that he is responsible for. Other players may have deserved some of his accolades depending when he started using… could have been for years for all we know. I will not speculate too much, but I was pretty sure he was a player, like Merriman, who gained alot of weight for the draft, was drafted high, produced at a high level his rookie year, and then was caught using drugs.

He was a RoTY, and now he could wind up getting screwed because he used PEDs
Even though he was stupid, it is a tough break for him, but more importantly the team which needed some help with the Defense.

error: invalid argument
it isn’t a tough break at all. he did something stupid, he didn’t get screwed, he got what he deserved.

Thanks d&d
it might be a tough break for the Texans and their fans, but Cushing was stupid by making such a decision and makes what already was a surprisingly productive rookie season, just a joke.

Def RoTY
Should be stripped and given to his former teamate and non-juicing superstar Clay Matthews.

How do we know this was not in the offseason to recover from his many injuries.
Not really a defense, but we do not know if this was done in season or not, so this may not have had an impact. Either way it was stupid, but to strip a title from someone for something that may not have had an impact may be a bit to harsh at the moment.

Ok....Texans fan
He got caught bro. The bad part is, like Merriman, he will probably never be the same after this. He got his millions though so thats good for him.
Did you know Eric Berry was asexually produced by Chuck Norris?

Yep,
He should be back next season however. It doesn’t sound like this was an in season problem, but an off season problem from the timing and how long the appeal lasted. If this was a regular season issue than DRoY should likely be removed from him. Until we know when this was talk of stripping titles may be a bit premature. The only thing that is for sure is that if he does this again then he should be released on the spot. A total of twelve games on the bench significantly hurts the team (as does the timing of these four, BRB is collectively upset at Cush, yet still backing him as he still is a Texan).
