The Titans quarterback received a citation for his involvement in a strip club brawl last month. After a discussion with Roger Goodell, he was told that he would not be suspended.
Vince Young and Roger Goodell will sit down for a meeting "sometime in the next week" to discuss the quarterback's assault citation he received for allegedly punching someone at 3:30 a.m. inside a strip club several weeks ago.
Young is a first-time offender so it's unlikely he would be suspended, Goodell acknowledged on Sunday, according to FOXSports.com.
Though it may not change anything, the fact that Young's transgression is on tape and available for the world to see probably isn't helping.
Commissioner Roger Goodell spoke to reporters following a speech he gave to high school players in Queens. He says the NFL is still in the fact-gathering stage regarding the strip club fight involving Vince Young.
There isn't enough information, right now, to make a decision on possible discipline he says.
The NFL previously said they would look into the Young situation.
If Vince Young receives a multi-game suspension for his role in a strip club fight over the weekend, the Titans week two game against the Steelers could make history. That would mean for the first time two teams would face off with both starting quarterbacks suspended.
So will Young be suspended? Alex Marvez of FOXSports.com says it's possible:
On the Dan Patrick radio show, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell cited a “pattern of behavior” and “bad judgments” before suspending Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger for six games. Goodell later said Roethlisberger was guilty of conduct that “undermines or puts at risk the integrity and reputation of the NFL, NFL clubs or players.”
The sexual assault allegations against Roethlisberger were certainly far more serious than the charge Young is facing. Young, though, can be disciplined for what Goodell described in his letter to Roethlisberger as actions that impose “inherent danger to the safety and well-being of another person.”
Titans fans at SB Nation's Music City Miracles are hoping Young isn't suspended. They've had a tough week.
Titans head coach Jeff Fisher said on Monday he's met with Vince Young regarding the fight he got into a strip club over the weekend. He wouldn't comment on specifics but didn't hide his disappointment in Young.
"I'm disappointed. He has taken responsibility for it. I'd like to think he's learned a lesson. He had no business making the decision that he made, and obviously he's got to deal with the consequences. I can't comment any further. The league will look into it. The Commissioner is very strict about these types of things, and I'm sure we'll hear from him after we get more information.
"Vince knows this. He's walking on his own on this one. This was a decision he made, and it was not a good decision. He put himself in a bad situation."

So who's fault was it that Vince Young went to a strip club and found his way into a fight that caused him be cited for assault?
His friend, of course. Per the Tennessean's Twitter:
Young said a friend talked him into going to strip club, which led to his citation on assault early sunday morning
This is one of those things you don't even have to explain. Everyone knows it's ridiculous.
Meanwhile, Titans coach Jeff Fisher will meet with Young today.
Veteran Titans beat writer Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean writes that Vince Young has some explaining to do after a fight at a strip club left him with a citation for assault.
Per Wyatt, Young will be at the Titans minicamp on Monday and, while he "has some explaining to do", it's not quite clear if he's going to address the incident.
The best way for Young to handle this would be to face the music. If he doesn't talk, then this story stays in the headlines until he does.
Stay tuned here and SB Nation's Music City Miracles for further details.
Unfortunately for Vince Young, he's draw the eye of the Commissioner's office.
A NFL spokesman said on Sunday evening that they are aware of the citation for assault that Young received and they "will look into it."
The NFL has come down harder on players for situations like this in the Roger Goodell era so this is a situation worth monitoring.
Young is a big name across the country and this situation will definitely draw the attention of quite a few eyeballs. Young can expect a call from the Commissioner this week.
Dallas Police have issued a citation to Titans quarterback Vince Young for his participation in a strip club brawl Sunday morning. One person was injured in the brawl, but police have said after reviewing video of the incident that no one will be arrested. The citation carries a fine of up to $500.
The incident occurred at Club Onyx in Northwest Dallas. The first call to police was made at 3:38 a.m. reporting a fight in the parking lot. Video first shown by a local news outlet shows a physical altercation ensuing after another man flashed an upside-down Texas Longhorns "Hook 'Em Horns" gesture to Young.
Police were called again about a half hour later, with an ambulance being summoned at 5:30 a.m. Police believe that Young left the scene before they arrived.
In a statement released Sunday after, the Titans spokesman Robbie Bohren said the team was aware of the incident and has been in touch with Young. During his annual charity softball event Sunday, coach Jeff Fisher said that the club was still in the process of gathering facts before taking action against its starting quarterback.
No Suspension For Vince Young Over Strip Club Fight
Titans QB Vince Young received a citation for a fight in a strip club this offseason but it won't cost him a game check.
Jason La Canfora of NFL Network reports Young was informed that he will not be suspended by the league for the incident.
This is no surprise considering Young was a first-time offender.
He had already met with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell about the incident.
