As you may have noticed, this past week SB Nation has rolled out regional sites across a host of cities -- D.C., Boston, New York, Chicago, Detroit, Arizona, Houston and Dallas. It's all part of our twenty regional sites in twenty days launch. And now it's my pleasure to introduce SB Nation Kansas City, led by the prolific Joel Thorman of Arrowhead Pride fame, along with a team of the best Kansas City bloggers not named Joe Posnanski.
As part of their launch, SB Nation Kansas City honed their expert sports insight on naming the top five Kansas City athletes. Zack Greinke unsurprisingly took home the top spot -- hey, you'd be popular too if you posted a 2.16 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 9.46 K/9 rate last season. Rounding out the rest of their list were a couple of Chiefs, Jamaal Charles and Eric Berry, as well as two college standouts, Missouri quarterback Blaine Gabbert and Jayhawks forward Marcus Morris.
No real surprises there...although it's a sign of how mammoth the Eric Berry hype is that he's already considered one of Kansas City's best athletes before even playing a single down for the Chiefs. Not quite Strasburgian in terms of anticipation, but close. Now it's your turn to tell us how you would rank the constellation of Kansas City stars -- after Zack Greinke. Do Jamaal Charles' noted Madden skills (not to mention gridiron exploits) give him second place, or will the hype storm that is Eric Berry claim it?
