Former Rhodes Scholar Myron Rolle has reportedly signed a four-year deal with the Tennessee Titans, the team that selected him in the 6th round of this year's draft. According to ProFootballTalk, the contract likely carries a minimum base salary.
Rolle has been the subject of countless profiles for his choice to take off his senior season of playing football at Florida State to pursue studies at Oxford University. While football scouts have cited concerns over his commitment to the game, fans and writers have hailed Rolle as a rare example of properly placed priorities in the world of sports.
The Titans are said to be very deep at safety, meaning that Rolle is still probably a longshot to make the final roster. At least for now, he's being given a shot.
