Serbia and their crew of sinister, henchmen-esque soccer warriors just threw Group D into complete chaos, giving Serbia the win, three points, and creating a knotty three team tie at the top of the group.
The Germans wisely tallied four goals versus Australia, something giving them a significant advantage even after blowing today’s game versus a very physical Serbian team. Germany must now defeat Ghana to advance, something it would likely do over Serbia (provided the Serbs beat Australia in this scenario) on the basis of goal differential.
That is a tall order based on what the Serbs did to Germany today, especially since Ghana has played inspired defense and will likely mimic the Serbs’ gameplan against Germany to the letter.
