With the seventh pick in the 2010 SB Nation NHL Mock Draft, our Carolina Hurricanes bloggers at Canes Country select...
Nino Niederreiter, Portland Winter Hawks (WHL)
As one of the youngest players in the draft, we feel that Nino Niederreiter has the best possible upside than anyone else available on the board. At the U20 World Championships, as a 17 year old he performed better than most of his 19 year old counterparts and was selected to the tournament all star team. The ISS describes him as, "Gritty and intelligent shooter who always seems to come up big when called upon. An extremely good forechecker who works hard and competes in all situations." His NHL potential? "Powerplay trigger man and top line power forward."
That's just what the doctor ordered for the Hurricanes.

The next pick, the eighth in the draft, belongs to our Atlanta Thrashers bloggers at Bird Watchers Anonymous. They are on the clock.
