World Cup 2010, England Vs. Algeria: Jamie Carragher Card Means Defender Misses Slovenia Match

Stay connected with SB Nation

Defender Jamie Carragher, taking the place of injury Ledley King, will be suspended for England’s next match against Slovenia after picking up a yellow card early in the second half of England’s Friday match with Algeria.

Carragher had picked up a yellow card on Saturday in the second half of England’s 1-1 draw with the United States, having come on at halftime for King.

With his impending absence, Fabio Capello will be down to Matthew Upson and Michael Dawson as central defense options.
