World Cup 2010, Argentina Vs. Greece: Martin Palermo Puts Home Lionel Messi Rebound, Puts Argentina Up 2-0

Lionel Messi’s quest for a goal has cracked the post and forced a diving stop in the last three minutes, but the second of those changes led to a Martin Palermo goal.

A shot from Messi from 20 yards out was parried by Alexandros Tzorvas, with the rebound going to the Boca Juniors forward, who put the ball home to make it 2-0.

The 36-year-old Palermo was one of Diego Maradona’s most controversial inclusions, but nine minutes after coming on in the 80th minute, Palermo brought the Argentine bench to its feet, putting the Albiceleste up two.
