In a result I predicted at the beginning of the day, unseeded Anastasia Rodionova upset No. 19 Svetlana Kuznetsova 6-4, 2-6, 6-4.
After match point, Kuznetsova refused to shake Rodionova’s hand, which in this case is far more of a reflection on Rodionova than it is on Kuznetsova.
Rodionova is, after all, one of only two players in WTA history to be defaulted from a match for unsportsmanlike conduct.
Rodionova, a Russian-born Australian, also famously celebrated as her opponent, Sabine Lisicki, writhed on the ground in pain at the 2009 US Open.
She’s a keeper, this one.

Kusnetsova
I have watched and played tennis for 55 years. I have never before seen anyone refuse to shake hands as Kuznetsova did today.. She should be fined and suspended. It does not matter if Rodionova (as Ben Rothenberg suggests) has an unsportsmanlke reputation. It does not matter if Kuznetsova is having a frustrating year playing a game that has made her a millionaire many times over. Her refusal to shake hands after Rodionova beat her fair and square is inexcusable.

Not Good
This article is one of the biggest loads of rubbish i have ever read. Kuznetsovas reaction was horrible and unsportsmanlike and is in NO way a reflection of Rodionova. Rodionova also lived in Australia and married an Australian a long time before switching to become an aussie and she was NOT paid by Tennis Australia to switch her allegiance. I also watched her match with Lisicki and she did NOT celebrate while she was lying on the ground in agony. She waited until Lisicki was wheeled off the court and then celebrated her hard fought victory, after all the injury happenned on Rodionovas match point.
