World Cup 2010, Japan Vs. Denmark: Jon Dahl Tomasson Scores Off Saved Penalty Kick

A soft penalty kick given by referee Jerome Damon when Makoto Hasebe collided with Daniel Agger set-up a Jon Dahl Tomasson goal, bringing Denmark to within one goal of Japan, 2-1.

Tomasson’s ensuing penalty kick was saved by Eiji Kawashima, who could not get to his feet in time to save Tomasson’s follow-up.

Denmark still needs two goals to advance over Japan, who wins the Group E tiebreaker with the Danes, should both teams finish on four points.
