The Orange Country Register is reporting that Lakers assistant coach, Brian Shaw, has received permission from the Lakers to talk to the Cavs about their head coaching position:
As if the Lakers don’t have enough going on already, assistant Brian Shaw is talking to Cleveland about their head coaching vacancy.
Shaw received permission from the Lakers to talk with the Cavs and reportedly is scheduled to meet with
officials face-to-face next week. Shaw has been with the Lakers the past nine seasons (four as a player, five as an assistant). Cleveland
The Cavs' interest in Shaw makes Phil Jackson's decision that much more important to the Lakers who still do not know if they need to begin a head coaching search of their own.
