Ghanian midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah's 37th minute scoring chance has been snuffed-out by Tim Howard, who came off his line at the right time to cut down the angles as the young Ghanian went in alone on goal.
A long ball from the Ghana end was misplayed by defender Jay DeMerit, the ball bouncing behind the defense for Asamoah. Howard came off his line to the right of his goal to make the save.
On the play, Carlos Bocanegra slid over Asamoah's left ankle as the defender attempt to block the Ghanian's shot. Asamoah spent some time off the pitch recovering from the injury.
Ghana leads the United States 1-0 in the 41st minute.
