World Cup 2010, Paraguay Vs. Japan: Daisuke Matsui Counterattack Leads to Wasted Chance For Keisuke Honda

Deisuke Matsui lead a Japan counterattack in the 40th minute, feeding a ball across the top of the penalty area for Keisuke Honda.  The Paraguay defense, still catching-up to the play, was unable to get to the attacker in time to challenge a shot, but the left-footed attempt from Honda was sliced to the left of Justo Villar's goal.

It was the first time in the match that Japan has been able to break into the attacking third with speed, seeing Paraguay's back line open-up for Honda's chance.  The CSKA Moscow attacker, having two goals in the tournament, opened up his left foot but out his shot out of play.

Japan and Paraguay remain scoreless in the 43rd minute
