Lance Armstrong, Entry-Level Hipster

Lance Armstrong just tweeted:

Post race massage. Bon Iver on the iPod - never gets [old.]

He actually spelled it, "hold," and if that's what he really meant, I can empathize. I don't really "get" the Hold Steady either. Anyway, Armstrong's appreciation of Bon Iver marks his descent into entry-level hipsterism. Look for him to ride the Tour de France on a fixed-gear bike, cards from alley-cat races wedged between its spokes.

All right, I'll stop being a jerk. Bon Iver is good music.

Dude how can you not “get” the Hold Steady? Do you “get” Bruce Springsteen? If you say no, I’m never coming back here.

The Hold Steady is one of those bands that everyone likes but me.

Maybe it’s inaccurate to say that I don’t “get” them. Just not really my bag. Then again, I like Steely Dan, so my opinions on music are probably worth precisely nothing.

Skirted the Springsteen issue, I see. I learned to like Steely Dan because this old guy at the bar wouldn’t shut up about Steely Dan. The fact that they’re good didn’t hurt.
