Via The Sporting Blog, we're treated to this delightful quote from one Kobe Bryant.
"You're asking me if LeBron is going to New York?" Bryant told The Post. "I'm trying to tell you in a polite way, I don't give a [bleep]."
It's a shame, really. The LeBron James Sweepstakes is a very important story, but at this stage it's more of an overworn meme than anything else. The President offers banal commentary on the situation, and everyone eats it up. Dozens of businesses from different cities are trying desparately to out-gimmick each other, rendering each one of these sub-stories insignificant.
If Kobe was being polite there, I don't want to see his impolite side. He's already terribly selfish with his [bleep]s. He does not give them! To anyone!

Agree
I’m a Nets fans, but c’mon. This hype is ridiculous. I’ll be glad as hell if he’s comes to the Nets. I’ll also be happy when it’s official and he with a team and this LeCrap Sweepstakes goes away.

OH MAN!
I have, until now, really disliked Kobe (out of pure ignorance). But here’s a guy who is laser focused on getting number 5 and they’re asking about Bron. Here’s a thought – maybe Bron should STFU until the finals are over! How about that? You cant wait two weeks to do Larry King? You gotta distract from the main event – the one you can’t get to?
I respect Kobe now because he clearly speaks what’s on his mind and he don’t BS.

He has a right to not give a ****
Here’s a guy who is playing at a level completely eclipsing not only Lebron but everyone else in these playoffs and is well on his way to winning a 5th Championship and everyone is talking about Lebron who lost as if he is a bigger deal than the NBA Finals.
Of course he is pissed that Lebron is hogging all the attention despite the fact that it is HE not Lebron who is in the finals and not only in it but completely dominating it with his best post-season performance yet.

Best answer ever
The guy who asked Kobe must have wanted to get a reaction. I thank him for this. http://bit.ly/a2axak

get over yourself Lebron
For all his talent, James is so insecure that he can’t bear not being talked about. I can’t imagine a get together between James, TO, and Ochocinco because they would all want the conversation to be about them.
