Tom Thibodeau Is Reportedly Bulls' New Head Coach

Tom Thibodeau, currently the Boston Celtics' assistant coach, has reportedly agreed to become the new head coach of the Chicago BullsThe Chicago Tribute's KC Johnson reports:

Tom Thibodeau has accepted the Bulls' 3-year offer to become the team's 18th head coach in franchise history, according to sources. No formal announcement can be made until the conclusion of the NBA Finals between the Lakers and Thibodeau's Celtics.

As such, this news won't become official for at least a week or so.

Earlier this week, the New Orleans Hornets appeared interested in Thibodeau's services, but ultimately passed because they didn't want to wait until the end of the Finals to make a move.

Thibodeau began his career as an assistant coach with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Since then, he has served as assistant coach and in other capacities with the then-Seattle Sonics, San Antonio Spurs, Philadelphia 76ers, and New York Knicks before joining the Celtics.
