Packers CB Brandon Underwood is reportedly being investigated for an alleged sexual assault at a Lake Delton condo early Saturday morning.
As expected, Packers CB Brandon Underwood reportedly will not be charged with sexual assault, according to 610 WTMJ.
However, the report states that Underwood could be charged with soliciting a prostitute instead.
Underwood met the two women at Chubby's, a gentleman's club outside of the Lake Delton area. Underwood solicited one or both of the women to return to his room. While an encounter between Underwood and one of the women was taking place, the other woman in question attempted to rob the Packers player. Once she was discovered, the two women were thrown out of the condo. That's when the two women called police and reported the assault. The two women in question were seen laughing and "carrying on" after wards by witnesses.
This is certainly a surprising development. The two women are apparently known prostitutes in the area.
A final decision is expected by Friday.
Here's an interesting twist to the case involving Packers CB Brandon Underwood. The two women who have accused him of sexual assault changed their story midway through the investigation seemingly weakening the case that's reportedly being delivered to the D.A. on Tuesday.
The women initially told investigators they were sexually assaulted by more than one Packer while other players held them down. After the players were questioned, the women changed their statements to say only one person assaulted them, Lake Delton Police Chief Tom Dorner said.
Dorner admitted that "it is weird" the women would change such a "pretty important piece of information" like that.
The six other Packers who were reportedly out with Underwood that night have denied any involvement and a couple of them have admitted to "poor judgment" on Underwood's case.
That their stories have changed seemingly weakens the case for the women. From the surface, it seems that there's plenty of reasonable doubt that this happened.
The incident involving Packers CB Brandon Underwood and two women who allege he sexually assaulted them will be sent to the district attorney's office on Tuesday, Lake Delton Police Chief Tom Dorner said, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
After the D.A. reviews the case, they'll determine if charges will be filed. If they don't file charges, then the criminal part of this case will be over. If they do decide to file charges, then Underwood's trouble is just beginning.
The police are still not formally recognizing the suspect as Underwood but multiple outlets have identified him as the person around which the investigation is centering.
Dorner said the investigation was focused on one individual, whom he declined to identify. Dorner acknowledged that Barrett may decline to issue charges based on the available evidence.
"This person is a person of interest," Dorner said. "He admitted to sexual contact and activity. The women said it was a sexual assault; he says it was consensual."
For now, we wait. Until Friday at least.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported on Monday morning that the Packers are "waiting for further developments in the investigation" regarding Brandon Underwood.
Underwood and six other Packers were reportedly at a Lake Delton party over the weekend where two women claim a player -- reported to be Underwood -- allegedly sexually assaulted them.
Per the Associated Press, the league is aware of the incident and taking a closer look.
In an e-mail to The Associated Press Sunday, NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said, "There is an active law enforcement investigation and we are monitoring developments. As with any such incident, it will be reviewed under the league's Personal Conduct Policy."
This is the first time Underwood has (potentially) landed in hot water with the league so he likely won't be disciplined prematurely ala Ben Roethlisberger.
Meanwhile, SB Nation's Acme Packing Company has an excellent rundown of what you need to know.
o whether this story really has an impact on the team depends on whether charges are filed next week. Reading between the lines of what the players said on Sunday is that one player's misjudgment got them all involved with the police, and they aren't thrilled that their names have been dragged into his mess. But it's not clear how serious this "misjudgment" was. We'll have to wait until the district attorney says later this week whether it's criminal misjudgment.
Packers CB Brandon Underwood is reportedly being investigated by police for an incident of alleged sexual assault that took place in a Lake Delton condo, according to Lee Bergquist and Greg Bedard of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
The newspaper, citing three sources, claims Underwood is one of seven Packers who were at a party in Lake Delton. The other Packers include: quarterback Matt Flynn, safety Khalil Jones, guard Josh Sitton, fullback Korey Hall, and linebackers Brad Jones and Clay Matthews.
The players were in town for a golf event hosted by Matthews. Only Underwood is being considered for charges.
The story goes that the players met a group of people including two women -- aged 31 and 33 -- at a bar. They eventually went back to a Lake Delton condo where some say it sounded like a "bunch of drunks were having a bachelor's party."
Police were called at 4:17 AM after two women claim there was some sort of non-consensual contact with Underwood.
"(The) seventh did have contact with the two females," Grimsled said. "We were pretty sure of that. Everybody was cooperative.
"It comes down to 'was it consensual sex?' One side says yes, the other says no."
The police say they're nearing the completion of their investigation and will go back to the district attorney next week to determine if charges will be filed.
According to the Journal Sentinel, Underwood has been a problem since being a 2009 draft pick.
When apprised that the investigation centered on Underwood, 23, several players who wished to remain anonymous said he had been a problem since he was drafted in the sixth round in 2009 out of Cincinnati. Cornerbacks coach Joe Whitt talked last season about Underwood being immature early in his rookie season.
Many people will relate this case to the recent Ben Roethlisberger case. While the situations may be similar, from the NFL's perspective, they're not quite the same. Roethlisberger's incident in Georgia was the second time he had been linked to some sort of alleged sexual assault.
The Packers are aware of the incident and say they're still in the fact-gathering stage.

Police Confirm 'Money Exchanged Hands' Between Brandon Underwood, Two Alleged Prostitutes
Things were going bad for Brandon Underwood when two women filed claims of sexual assault against him. Things got better when the district attorney would not be charging him with sexual assault. Then things were going bad when it was reported that the police were considering charges of soliciting a prostitute against Underwood.
If that's bad, then this is worse. Police issued a news release concerning recent news reports.
Underwood apologized to his teammates this week which would imply that he did something wrong. He declined comment on questions about the current case but did provide an apology.
