Mark DeRosa - he of the 'total failure' wrist surgery - re-injured himself, and now looks all but set for a second surgery that would end his season.
Giants outfielder/infielder Mark DeRosa re-aggravated his left wrist injury at Triple-A Fresno, greatly reducing the likelihood that he will play again for San Francisco this season.
...
DeRosa didn’t play for Fresno on Monday, either, bringing his immediate future into question and prompting team officials to all but concede that surgery is the next likely step.
It's a tough break for DeRosa, but an inevitable one, and if nothing else, at least this should repair what was never repaired. In the meantime, the streaking Andres Torres will continue to get regular time in the outfield, while newcomer Pat Burrell gets spot starts and some appearances off the bench.
