Okay, how's this for crazy news on free agency day?
It's not so much that Dan Ellis has signed with the Tampa Bay Lightning. It's not so much that it's a two-year, $3 million deal worth $1.5 million a season, either. No, it's that a guy like Derek Boogaard gets signed by the New York Rangers minutes later for even more cash than that.
Yep, Boogaard gets a ridiculous $1.65 million a season for the next four years in New York, according to Bob McKenzie.
Be sure to check out SB Nation New York and Blueshirt Banter for more on that signing, and check Raw Charge and SB Nation Tampa Bay for more on the Ellis signing.
