Free Agent DT Hollis Thomas Suspended Eight Games For Violating PED Policy

Stay connected with SB Nation

Last March the Panthers made the decision not to re-sign defensive tackle Hollis Thomas. At age 36, the move was reasonable but now we find out via Jason La Canfora of NFL Network that there might have been more motivation to let him go.

Hollis Thomas has been suspended without pay for 8 games for violating the NFL policy on performance enhancing substances.

Thomas' name hasn't cropped up in the news cycle in quite some time presumably because of the suspension that was coming.

The last time we heard from him was about a month ago when he was drafted by the UFL.

Thomas played the first month of the season with the Rams last year before signing on with the Panthers.

At his age, it seems unlikely Thomas would get another shot in the NFL.
