It's not the first instance in which the Worldwide Leader family of networks has taken a self-deprecating shot at itself for the much criticized "The Decision" program from last week, but it's without question the most high profile of them. Utilizing two comedy heavyweights in Steve Carell and Paul Rudd, the ceiling of hilarity is fairly high. Of course, a rule of thumb when Seth Meyers is involved is that you know comedic potential is going to be squandered.
What results is a pretty warmed-over and toothless twist on the premise of the show. Here Carell is solemnly choosing which chain restaurant he will be dining at this evening. Only the manufactured drama of the event is the only thing being sent up. Obviously, ESPN wants to show it can poke fun at itself for its major ethical lapse, just don't expect any particularly damaging satire to take place.

re: Carell's decision
I am with him all the way! The present economy has eliminated the crowds and lowered prices in the form of “Specials Available”. I am maybe reading between the lines here but I seem to feel in about a week we will all find out that both Adam Sandler and Dane Cook have already decided to eat at there as well with him. I understand the disappointment from other eateries but I see a fine coming here for one establishment which I choose not to mention, the bitterness displayed by them does not warrant mentioning their name again . I like the way the other competitor’s handled the situation. While not getting the business they covet, they remained quiet and held there collective tongue’s. This will benefit us all in the long run. Never before has a trio of talented “Funny Men” been at the same place at the same time and I congratulate all those who are going to be there to watch the event. I imagine it will bring a windfall to all those in the industry in the form of igniting a charge to all who had stopped “Eating Out” will want to get in on “Early Bird Specials” and other perks as this is something to tell your Grand Kid’s about. I am sure we will all remember where we were when we first heard this stunning news!
