NBA Free Agency: Why The Suns Did The Right Thing In Moving On Without Amar'e Stoudemire

How are Arizona natives feeling about Amar'e Stoudemire moving on from the Suns? SB Nation Arizona's Seth Pollack writes that the Suns' offer was quite fair.

The Suns did their best to keep him and to protect the franchise from a contract that could have dragged the entire organization down. Amare did what he felt he needed to do. I have no finger of blame to point in this.

I wish Amare nothing but the best; now it's time to move on.

Pollack closes by saying this:

Welcome to the Hakim Warrick era, may it only last one season until the Suns have cap space and flexibility to find another All-Star-caliber frontcourt player, which as the Chicago Bulls can tell you is easier said than done.

I'm not sure the Suns will have that flexibility, since they are paying a decent amount of money for Channing Frye and Warrick and may elect to give extensions to Goran Dragic Jared Dudley and Robin Lopez in 2011, but we'll see.

Regardless, it's the end of Stoudemire's free agent saga in Phoenix this summer, one way or another. As a way to see the path in visual form, here's a great graphic from SB Nation Arizona.
