No complaints for the first two days of this forecast. An area of high pressure stretching from the lower Great Lakes on Friday to eastern Pennsylvania on Saturday will provide some very comfortable and delightful weather. Both Friday and Saturday will see mostly sunny skies and high temperatures in the mid to upper 70s.

12:00 p.m EDT – Sprint Cup Practice – Mostly sunny & pleasant - temp: 71

SUNDAY
The atmosphere becomes unsettled going into Sunday, and we will have to monitor radar for the development of widely scattered showers and possible storms. This is not a potential washout by any means, but the chaotic development of any showers or storms that may form make it hard to say where and when shower and storms if any form.

  1:00 p.m EDT – Sunoco Red Cross Pennsylvania 500 – Clouds & sun sct'd shower or storm- temp: 83

The only area of concern for Iowa Speedway is on Friday. The atmosphere will be unsettled and we could see complexes of storms during the afternoon and evening. These storms have the potential to be strong and severe. This would be the only weather feature that could cause problems for on track activities. Once this system passes Friday night, the air will become less humid and overall the forecast for Saturday is partly to mostly sunny with pleasant summer weather.

FRIDAY:
  5:30 p.m EDT (4:30 p.m CDT) – Nationwide Practice – Variably cloudy possible strong storms - temp: 82
  7:30 p.m EDT (6:30 p.m CDT) – Nationwide Final Practice – Variably cloudy possible strong storms - temp: 79

SATURDAY
  4:00 p.m EDT (3:00 p.m CDT) – Nationwide Qualifying – Partly Sunny - temp: 82
  7:00 p.m EDT (6:00 p.m CDT) – U.S. Cellular 250 – Partly Sunny - temp: 82
