It has not been a pleasant couple days for explosively athletic wide receivers. First Cowboys rookie Dez Bryant suffered a high ankle sprain that will sideline him for at least a month, then Percy Harvin was carted off the Vikings practice field today with an injury that, apparently, nobody witnessed.
And since bad things happen to wideouts in threes, the trifecta is already complete: per our Eagles blog at Gang Green Nation, DeSean Jackson was carted off the Eagles' practice field with a back injury.
Fortunately for Jackson, as Adam Schefter reported, his back injury doesn't appear to be serious, and CSN Philadelphia's Derrick Gunn reports that Jackson will be fine in a few days.
Of course, back injuries have a nasty habit of lingering long after their expected recovery time, and the last thing a speedster like Jackson needs is a creaky back. But it's just as likely, if not moreso, that Jackson will be 100% by next weekend.
