Brett Lebda Accepts Two-Year Deal With Toronto Maple Leafs

Unrestricted free agent defenseman Brett Lebda has taken a two-year contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs, ending five years of service for the Detroit Red Wings. The undrafted player has spent the entirety of his 326-game career in the Motor City, amassing 18 goals and 50 assists after signing with them in July 2004.

Set to earn $1.45 million per campaign, the 28-year-old will have no shortage of challenges in Toronto. For reactions from both parties, visit Pension Plan Puppets and Winging It In Motown.
