UFC on Versus 2 Results - Jake Ellenberger Stops John Howard In Round Three

In the second fight of the UFC on Versus card Jake Ellenberger was able to cause severe swelling of John "Doomsday" Howard's eye that forced the doctor to call a halt to the bout in the third round.

The first round was controlled by Ellenberger, who used his wrestling and ground and pound to take Howard out of his game. Howard came out hard in round 2 with big strikes that rocked Ellenberger, but Jake was able to change levels and again get a takedown. On the ground Jake landed a very big elbow that caused severe swelling of John Howard's left eye. Howard would flurry again late in the second but again Ellenberger took him down and worked a slow ground and pound.

Amazingly, despite his grotesquely swollen eye Howard was allowed to start the third round. It was only after yet another takedown and ground and pound session by Ellenberger that the fight was stopped by the doctor who declared that Howard's eye was swollen to the point that he couldn't see.
