Seahawks Trade 2008 1st Round Pick Lawrence Jackson To The Lions
This week the 49ers traded former first round pick DE Kentwan Balmer to the Seahawks for a sixth round pick. He was set to play with another first round pick, DE Lawrence Jackson, with the Seahawks.
That competition won't happen as the Seahawks have announced that they've traded Jackson to the Lions for an undisclosed 2011 draft pick.
Interestingly, Balmer was drafted directly after Jackson in the 2008 draft.
The Seahawks gave up a sixth round pick for Balmer so it's possible they acquired another late round pick in the Jackson trade.
SB Nation's Pride of Detroit passes along word that the 270-pound Jackson will apparently play defensive end.
At his size, some wondered what position he might play.
Check out SB Nation's Field Gulls and Pride of Detroit for more on the trade.
