Martin Prado Placed On Disabled List With Fractured Pinky

It's been a big year for the 26 year old Martin Prado. A big, All-Star year. Unfortunately, Prado's big All-Star year has hit a bit of a speedbump:

Braves placed 2B Martin Prado on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to July 31, with a fractured right pinky finger.

Prado injured his finger sliding into home on Friday night. He said he felt a little bit better Monday morning, but the decision was made to put him on the DL anyway after he met with Bobby Cox.

With a .315/.357/.484 batting line, Prado's been arguably Atlanta's biggest force in the lineup so far this season. As such, his is no insignificant loss. On the other hand, he will be eligible to return in just two weeks, and backup infielder Omar Infante - All-Star backup infielder Omar Infante - has hit .342, and should be able to fill in for Prado admirably for as long as is needed.
