If the Arizona Cardinals were hoping that one of the team's prospective starters at quarterback would offer a performance indicative of a leader under center, they must have been sorely disappointed.
In the first half against the Titans first-team defense, Matt Leinart finished a woeful 4-for-6 for 26 yards. Derek Anderson did marginally better, posting a 9-for-16 performance for 97 yards, using a 37-yard completion to lead the offense to a field goal in the second quarter, which ended up being the only scoring drive for the team in the first half.
On the other side, Vince Young had a respectable evening, going 9-for-13 for 128 yards. Young was forced to recover his own fumble on one play, but threw the ball effectively enough early to make the defense back off the line against Chris Johnson. As a result, Johnson was able to cap a touchdown drive with an 8-yard run.

Woeful?
How is 4for6 woeful. Granted I didn’t see the game but heck, he didn’t even get a chance to warm up to his team. I think that writers are too quick to judge on this type of performance.

Yes, woeful
4-for-6 doesn’t produce a woeful completion percentage, however 4-for-6 for 26 yards is bad, because it indicates short completions that aren’t moving the sticks. Had you actually watched the Cardinals stalled drives with Leinart under center, I’m guessing you would offer a similar assessment.

Lol I actually was able to watch the game.. and no I didn’t think leinart looked good at all.. granite it is preseason but you wanna see some positive plays or even displaying a certain swagger or command over the game.. idk about Matt y’all, I’m a huge SC fan, so maybe I’m a little bias in thinkin he will get it together..

But woeful?
Really I can understand if he had more tries but only 6 tries how can it be woeful. I know, I know but really he didn’t get a chance did he? We really need to see a game worth before woeful comes into play. I would hope so anyway.

It would help if Leinart didn't have someone in his face as soon as he took the snap.
Lifelong Arizona Cardinals/Chicago Bears fan [I have always lived in Arizona, dad is from Chicago].
I can't stand fair-weather/bandwagon fans, stick with your team, throughout the good and the bad. And don't switch to whichever team wins the Super Bowl each year.
