Mark DeRosa spent a good portion of the year dealing with a tricky wrist and complaining an operation that didn't fix what was wrong. He had to undergo a second surgery on his wrist, but now this story has a happy ending:
DeRosa said he feels "completely different" after this operation, which was performed by a different surgeon. Nothing appears loose, as it did in spring training, and the numbness is gone.
DeRosa should be able to swing a bat before the end of September, putting him in line to be healthy in plenty of time for 2011. All that really remains to be seen is whether he has any significant playing time waiting at the other end.
