English Premier League side Birmingham City have made their third deadline day signing, with Chilean Jean Beausejour set to make the move to the midlands. The club announced the deal late Tuesday, agreeing to a £4 million fee.
Beausejour, 26 years old, starred for Marcelo Bielsea at this summer’s World Cup, scoring in Chile’s 1-0 win over Honduras in Group G play.
It was in the next round that Beausejour really stood-out, according to manager Alex McLeish:
Beausejour is an excellent, left-sided midfielder who had a tremendous World Cup with Chile – he was their star player against Spain – and also played very well in a pre-season friendly against Manchester City recently.
