The Patriots surprised a few people on Tuesday placing CB Leigh Bodden on injured reserve ending his season.
The Patriots placed three more players on IR: S Josh Barrett, DB Brett Lockett and DL Darryl Richard.
DB Terrence Johnson was also waived making him the fifth roster move to get the Patriots from 80 to 75 players.
Bodden was signed a four-year, $22 million deal this offseason after playing in 2009 on a one-year deal. He made his preseason debut just last week after missing several weeks of practice.
Bodden's injury is reportedly a torn rotator cuff.
