2010 Bridgestone Invitational, Round 3 Leaderboard Update: Ryan Palmer, Sean O'Hair Hold Clubhouse Lead

With such a tightly-contested tournament, the lead is bound to change plenty of times,  and we're certainly seeing that in Round 3 of the Bridgestone Invitational. Not long after Ernie Els climbed the leaderboard, Ryan Palmer and Sean O'Hair have made aggressive strides to take a share of the lead.

Neither golfer was within the top ten entering the third round. Palmer recorded seven birdies without committing a single bogey to chalk up a 7-under round. The 33-year old has three career PGA Tour wins. Meanwhile, O'Hair scored an eagle at the second hole to complement his four birdies on Saturday. O'Hair, 28, also has three Tour wins to his name.

Though these two have climbed to the top of the leaderboard, the standings are no less crowded. As of 5:00 Eastern, seven golfers are within three strokes of them.

Elsewhere on the course, Mickelson is running into trouble in the third round. Two consecutive bogeys in the back nine have him at 1-over throught 15 holes.

2010 Bridgestone Invitational, Round 3 Leaderboard Update: Ernie Els Takes Share Of Lead, Katsumasa Miyamoto Posts 62

Ernie Els entered Round 3 of the Bridgestone Invitational with a relatively modest 1-under score for the tournament, but on Saturday, he delivered a performance that will give him a chance to win his third PGA Tour event of the year.

Els shot 5-under through the back nine to go 6-under for the day. Heading into the clubhouse, Els shared the lead at 7-under. This results in an already-crowded top of the leaderboard: as of this writing, seven golfers are tied for first place, and 13 others are within three strokes of the lead.

Also vaulting up the leaderboard is Katsumasa Miyamoto, whose Round 3 score of 62 is the best of the tournament so far. Miyamoto eagled the 17th hole and recorded seven birdies to move 49 spots up the leaderboard, and he now stands only two shots off the lead. The 37-year-old has never won a PGA Tour event.

Phil Mickelson, meanwhile, is 1-under through seven holes to take a share of the lead.

2010 Bridgestone Invitational, Round 3: Tee Times And Leaderboard Updates

Round 3 of the Bridgestone Invitational is underway, and Retief Goosen finds himself at the top of a crowded leaderboard. He leads at 7-under entering Saturday's play, but eleven players are within three strokes of him.

The closest challengers are Phil Mickelson and Justin Leonard at 6-under. Peter Hanson, Bo Van Pelt, and Bubba Watson stand at 5-under.

Some players with early tee times have already finished their third-round play. Noted golfing enthusiast Tiger Woods, who is still playing only because the Bridgestone Invitational doesn't have a cut, shot a 75 early Saturday to keep him all the way back to 78th place. Thanks to five bogeys and a double-bogey, this was his worst round yet.

So far, Heath Slocum is making the biggest impact in Round 3. After posting an unimpressive 75 in Round 1, he rallied with a 68 in Round 2, and he's 4-under through 12 holes on Saturday. This puts him six strokes behind the lead, though he's still back in 29th place.

Here are the tee times for the golfers who haven't yet started their rounds. All times Eastern.

1:05 - Paul Casey, Matt Kuchar
1:15 - Lucas Glover, Miguel Jimenez
1:25 - Adam Scott, Nick Watney
1:35 - Bo Van Pelt, Bubba Watson
1:45 - Peter Hanson, Phil Mickelson
1:55 - Retief Goosen, Justin Leonard
